The “Russian Sailor of the Year 2010” national award winners have been announced 2nd of December, 2010, in the “Forum Hall” celebration rooms in Moscow. The award was broadcasted live by the NTV Plus Sport TV channel.
The legendary soviet yachtsman Valentin Mankin arrives in Moscow on the 2nd of December 2010 for the ‘Sailor of the Year 2010 National Award’ ceremony. Currently he resides in Italy where he has been living for a long time now.
The General Partner of the National Award “Sailor of the Year 2010” became the car brand Volkswagen, the Agreement with the Company was signed today.
The award is a means of recognizing the leaders of public opinion in sailing in Russia. This award is for those who successfully took part in competitions, organized sailing events, participated in the leadership of sailing community, was active in the media to support of sailing and developed youth sailing school in Russia.
Accepting applications ended the 1st November, 2010, according to The Act of the National Sailing Award. Organizing Committee received and processed 90 applications, and 76 nominees were determined.
